Andrea Goldstein - Assistant Director
andrea@aijcamps.org

Andrea Goldstein is a “camp person” and feels immense joy when camp communities reunite every summer. Andrea’s childhood dream was to become a Camp Director, and she realized that dream when she started her career. She worked with various communities and at several locations at JCC Chicago for over 20 years. Her finest accomplishment was opening and overseeing Apachi Chicago Day Camp for thirteen summers, creating thousands of memories for hundreds of campers, staff, and parents. She met many wonderful people along the way and continues to stay in contact with many staff across the United States, Canada, and Israel. Andrea believes that building strong relationships and excellent communication with all stakeholders are critical components to successful programs. Camp is a business that must be run with integrity as its bottom line.

Andrea’s love of camp started at Tamarack Camps in Michigan, where she spent several summers as a camper, maintenance staff, counselor, and supervisor. Her best memories include canoeing and hiking trips, Havdalah, and making lifelong friends. She spent two summers working at Camp Chi (thanks, Harrell!), and then returned to Tamarack, one of the “greatest places on Earth.”

Andrea is a graduate of Michigan State University. She lives in Chicago with her husband and teenage twin boys. She enjoys baking, cooking, traveling, and volunteering.
